DetailsDescription:
The -fg switch is specified by default, which causes the server to terminate as soon as the ~/.vnc/xstartup process exits. Because of this, systemctl start vncserver@:display.service never returns, since systemd keeps waiting for vncserver to fork. Either the -fg switch needs to be removed or the service type needs to be changed to simple. I'd personally prefer removing the -fg switch since it causes systemctl start to return as soon as vncserver is started. That's what I did. Also, a step in the instructions telling users to go through the first time configuration before doing anything is a good idea. Something like 1. Run "vncserver :display" manually as the user this service will be running under. This does the first-time configuration. 2. Copy this file to etc. etc. Finally, xorg-xinit, twm, and xterm should be added as optional dependencies since the default configuration assumes they exist. Additional info: * version 1.6.0-1 Steps to reproduce: Do first time configuration by running vncserver :display manually. Follow instructions in /usr/lib/systemd/system/vncserver.service. |
