Description:
I am filing this bug as I noticed this had been reported in testing with  bug 47092  but I was not using testing and am still not. Dmitrij (lnx) made a comment in 47092 that this had migrated from testing to core but perhaps not seen and no new bug report filed. switching to linux-lts and nvidia-304xx-lts solved problem but this issue is still present in new 4.4 series kernel. Also in comments Johnny Nielsen (Johnny.Nielsen) filed a bug report upstream so is that the solution we are waiting for?

my video card: VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation NV44A [GeForce 6200] (rev a1)

X will not start
