In /opt/kde/share/apps/kdm/sessions/xfce4.desktop the Exec and TryExec must contain the abslotute path /opt/xfce4/bin/startxfce4 If not, xfce doesn't appear in the sessions menu.

are you sure you haven't restarted your pc or kdm after xfce installtion?
normally the programs are then exported to PATH= and then it should work

startxfce4 was in the $PATH, and KDM didn't show it in the sessions menu. Wen I wrote the absolute pth, then it appeared. I also have, by default, an absolute PATH in the KDE session file.

hi i cannot confirm the issue, installed xfce4 fine and it does show up.
/etc/X11/sessions/
there is also a file for xfce try to set this to full path if this helps this bug should be assinged to xfce packagers.

gnome and KDE use the full paths also, so I think XFCE should do this also.
