Hello!

The rc.conf file contains the following line:

# CONSOLEMAP: found in /usr/share/kbd/unimaps

which is actually not true since console maps are in /usr/share/kbd/consoletrans. This variable is used by the following line of rc.sysinit:

/usr/bin/setfont -m $CONSOLEMAP $CONSOLEFONT -C /dev/vc/${i}

where the -m option of setfont search for the given console map in /usr/share/kbd/consoletrans by default, so everything works fine if you assign CONSOLEMAP value to the name of a file in /usr/share/kbd/consoletrans. Actually files in unimaps directory are unicode mapping tables which are usually not needed to load expicitly since most of console fonts still contains them.
