I have an (old but works perfectly) LG S1 Express Dual, with sound card HDA Intel, and since kernel 3.14.51-1-lts I can't update the kernel, because if I do it, I don't have sound on internal speakers of laptop.

Is there a way to get the speakers working with newest kernels??

Thank you!!

First of all sorry for my English, it isn't my language. I've the same problem with a Realtek ALC-880 audio card. I found on a Gentoo's forum that from kernel 3.15 some Intel audio cards (among which mine) aren't fully supported. So I'm still using linux-lts 3.14.52 and I've locked its upgrade when in Arch repository linux-lts became 4.1. I've also tried to install "linux-lts314" from AUR (now it is 3.14.60) but I failed because there are two gpg key errors.

Since this an hardware related-issue, if you don't provide information such as dmesg sound errors, nobody (except who has your exactly problem...) can help you.
