I guess icu and json1 will require some more dependencies. That could be a problem for a pkg that belongs to the core repo.
Icu extension breaks build and would require further fixing and introduce a new dependency we don't want in core (check Gentoo ebuild).
So we won't build and ship the icu extension for now.
