Hooks are not longer provided in /lib/dhcpcd/dhcpcd-hooks/, copy them from the examples at /usr/share/dhcpcd/hooks/.

vloup, how is that relevant here?

allenlinux, we'll need more information. Logs?

Oh, sorry if does not look clear, it was clear in my head when I wrote this.

Basically with dhcpcd 6.10.0, "timezone, lookup-hostname, wpa_supplicant and YP hooks are no longer installed by default but are installed to an example directory"[1].
If those hooks are missing, the service will time out being unable to connect to the network and will abort as allenlinux described.
On top of that, since dhcpcd@.service uses the -w option, the system will wait on boot to timeout before letting the user enter his password.

This issue happens only if you do not use any network managing sofwares (like I do with just a simple wpa_supplicant.conf file).

vloup, in your case, though, you needed the wpa_supplicant hook. The OP is talking about a wired connection (the "en" part of the device name).

You're right. I may still expect a similar issue on allen's side if he uses some ethernet authentication mechanism.
