Detailsid3lib seems to have a bug when writing tags in Unicode. I'm just writing 中文 tags and indeed, some characters turn out wrong... easytag 1.9.12 warns the user when first writing unicode tags and mentions a patch (for id3lib) made available by the author of easytag. available at:
