Description:

Hello,
At the moment, the geoip extension for php does not support IPv6. Nowadays, this issue is really annoying, for example with Piwik (a php website used for analytics).
According to https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=59124 there is a patch available, which also brings php 7 support. Would you consider adding it to the package ?

Additional info:
* package version(s) : 1.1.0-1

IPv6 request is a duplicate of  FS#32218

I'll leave it open because it will either need to be updated to php7 or dropped.

php-geoip 1.1.0-2 is packaged from upstream's /trunk which contains a commit for PHP7 compatibility and another commit for IPv6. [1]

Hopefully it's not any less stable than the patch linked in the upstream report. (That patch is up to upstream to merge and make a new release.)
