Formerly it was possible to set suspend_method=shutdown/platform in /etc/suspend.conf; now even this possibility seems to have been crippled.

Is that label ("swap") correct? What is the output of blkid?

In deed my swap partition must have become reformatted without my knowledge; now it has the correct label (as verifyable by swapon/off -L swap).
Unfortunately that did not change much about the kernels behaviour:
Dez 17 10:58:42 AmiloXi3650 kernel: PM: Checking hibernation image partition /dev/disk/by-label/swap
Dez 17 10:58:42 AmiloXi3650 kernel: PM: Hibernation image not present or could not be loaded.

and later it says:
Dez 17 10:58:42 AmiloXi3650 swapon[240]: swapon: /dev/sda5: Software-Ruhezustandsdaten entdeckt. Die Auslagerungssignatur wird neu geschrieben.
... which means software-hibernation data found; the signature of the swap partition is written anew.

It would now likely be interesting to know why it can not load the hibernation image.

Tested again with Linux AmiloXi3650 4.5.0-rc4-ARCH #4 SMP PREEMPT Sat Feb 20 22:27:16 CET 2016 x86_64 GNU/Linux; result is the same (logs).
As this bug won`t move away from alone is there anyone who could help me with this?

Truely a configuration issue; the following line was missing in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf:
HOOKS="... resume"

However now I have the same problem as with s2ram: the external HDMI monitor gets disabled:
see for Bug  FS#47410 .
