While trying to get democracy player up and running, I ran across this error from python's distutils:
RuntimeError: pkg-config --cflags --libs gtk+-2.0 glib-2.0 pygtk-2.0 mozilla-gtkmozembed mozilla-xpcom outputted the following error:
Package mozilla-gtkmozembed was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `mozilla-gtkmozembed.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'mozilla-gtkmozembed' found
Package mozilla-xpcom was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `mozilla-xpcom.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'mozilla-xpcom' found

Google'ing around it looks like other distributions provide it as a mozilla-devel package. Where can I get that in archlinux?

Also, it looks like we have this:
/opt/mozilla/lib/pkgconfig/xulrunner-gtkmozembed.pc

Is that the same thing?

We don't provide mozilla-gtkmozembed because we supply XULRunner for embedding. If your app is firefox 1.5/mozilla 1.8 compatible, it should compile with XULRunner most of the times. Changing all calls from mozilla-gtkmozembed to xulrunner-gtkmozembed and building using 'make LDFLAGS+="-R /opt/mozilla/lib/xulrunner"' should do the trick.
