Detailsrabbitmq.install contains this line:
sed -e "/NODENAME/s/rabbit/rabbit@$(hostname)/" -i /etc/rabbitmq/rabbitmq-env.conf This replaces NODENAME with the hosts's FQDN. Rabbitmq does not accept FQDNs as nodenames, so this will never work: Dec 03 08:05:44 athena.barrera.io systemd[1]: Started RabbitMQ Messaging Server. Dec 03 08:05:44 athena.barrera.io rabbitmq[27631]: {error_logger,{{2015,12,3},{8,5,44}},"Can't set short node name!\nPlease check your configuration\n",[]} [...] The above mentioned line should read: sed -e "/NODENAME/s/rabbit/rabbit@$(hostname -s)/" -i /etc/rabbitmq/rabbitmq-env.conf |
