Is the pulseaudio daemon running? And is X running?
Comment by Amin (Gradiuss) - Wednesday, 02 December 2015, 13:41 GMT
Well the documentation for the arch linux pulseaudio has been clear to me : if there are a systemd, then I shouldn't daemonize. And X is running.
Comment by Doug Newgard (Scimmia) - Wednesday, 02 December 2015, 16:38 GMT
Pulse needs to be running in the systemd user session, though. Check systemctl status.
Comment by Amin (Gradiuss) - Wednesday, 02 December 2015, 17:39 GMT
when running systemctl status pulseaudio.service on both of my Arch install it says : not-found (reason : no such file or directory).
Comment by Doug Newgard (Scimmia) - Wednesday, 02 December 2015, 17:52 GMT
It's a user service, not a system service. Just run `systemctl status` alone to get an overview, or use systemctl --user to check things specifically.
Comment by Amin (Gradiuss) - Wednesday, 02 December 2015, 18:54 GMT
I found it and it says /usr/bin/pulseaudio --daemonize=no. What shoudl I do ?
Comment by Doug Newgard (Scimmia) - Wednesday, 02 December 2015, 20:03 GMT
What do you mean "found"? Is it running in the user session?

So after all of the, yes, the pulseaudio daemon is running. So much trouble for a simple question.
Comment by Amin (Gradiuss) - Friday, 04 December 2015, 10:22 GMT
Well my question is : is it normal despite the daemon running that the output of the command pax11publish is null ? Which leads to the problem : my cookie file is unusable and I can't stream sound on any of my Arch Linux installation.
