DetailsSince I updated my glibc to the 2.4 in testing, xine crashes with the following error:
$ xine This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.4. (c) 2000-2004 The xine Team. xine: gconv_db.c:232: __gconv_release_step: Assertion `step->__end_fct == ((void *)0)' failed. Aborted I tried to recompile it using ABS but I get compilation errors toothat look like they have to do with the strictness of gcc 4.x. |

I had some time to do some testing today, so I ran xine in gdb and when it crashed I got a backtrace, which referenced smbclient. I removed smbclient and xine works now, although all of this still happened after upgrading glibc, so perhaps the bug or problem is with smbclient and not with xine.
