Description:
Distributions usually deploy a desktop launcher file for Emacs Client next to the one for Emacs. The file allows Emacs Client (and possibly a server) to be stated by a launcher like GNOME's activities screen or KDE's laucher menu I've attached the file that I use. Additional comments about closing: Checked both Fedora and Gentoo. Both don't ship emacs-client.desktop. Pleas e file a upstream bug.
The Arch Linux philosophy is to deliver vanilla packages.

Have you considered asking upstream to supply such a file? The
primary desktop file is upstream-provided.
