Description:
I am using Gnome Shell, and sometimes there's a process named tracker-extract. I don't know what it does, but it takes too much memory. The last time it filled both my ram and swap. I could barely move mouse pointer. I think there's a huge leak in tracker-extract.

Additional info:
libtracker-sparql 1.6.0-1
tracker 1.6.0-1
gnome-shell 3.18.1-2

I faced it another time with tracker 1.10.3-1.
The problem is that it fill the whole memory and swap and UI becomes completely unresponsive. How can I limit its memory usage?

Guess this should fix your problem:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/tracker/commit/?h=tracker-1.12&id=d54665c64bfddcb9825721a7254cfcbfec0edcd2

Included since 1.11.4, so assuming fixed now.
