Description:

qemu 2.4.0 hangs using vfio for pci passthrough of graphics card (Launchpad Bug #1488363)

Additional info:
* package version(s)

Most recent stable... Seems to be since qemu 2.3+

* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:

Most recent qemu package seems to cause this on multiple systems with similar AMD chipsets.

Resolution:

I followed the suggestions for this bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/qemu/+bug/1488363/ and reverted the suspected commit in an ABS install, and everything works correctly again.

Please convince upstream qemu to revert this "hack", since some AMD chipsets still rely on it!

Is this still an issue?

The upstream bugtracker set this to fixreleased on 2017-07-24.

EDIT: That was the original reporter so I'm not sure how accurate that is...
