DetailsAfter a -Syu, I do a ls -al /var/lib/pacman/community to see if new packages were available. All the directories and files in this folder are owned to UID 1001:GID 100, which on my config is liliz:users (my girlfriend login). They should all be set to root:root !

Paul, 1001 is your UID. If you run the script through fakeroot, you should be able to build the tarball with root.root ownership.
