Just realized that I was getting this version of the package from the catalyst repository. Sorry about that; feel free to close if extra is skipping this version.

Is this a duplicate of  FS#46769 ,  FS#46762 ,  FS#46387 ,  FS#42568 , or  FS#46835 ?

I don't believe so. I should have mentioned that there's also a cursor on this screen, but you can't really do anything since everything else is black. The white pixels sometimes adjust with cursor movement as well. It's almost as if you're at the gdm login screen but nothing is rendering properly.

Anyway, Arch isn't "skipping" this version, because it's simply a pkgrel change that the catalyst repo is making. No idea what they are changing, but it seems to be their problem.
