I can't find anything about this driver on the linux-stable mailing list or main lkml. What about our stock 4.2.x kernel?

Any upstream ressource where you've taken this? I can't find the patches in Linus tree or Gregs stable queue.

Is that single commit enough to fix your high load issue?

I'd rather perfer fixing such issues in our stock kernel and keep the lts kernel even more upstream and wait for Grek to apply a patch to the stable tree when it is known to be safe and well tested.

Applying that single commit breaks the build. I'm for not applying anything the lts kernel.
