Description:
/boot is part of my root partition which is contained within an LVM volume. When I enable GRUB_SAVEDEFAULT="true" in /etc/default/grub, I get "error: diskfilter writes are not supported" upon selecting any boot entry. This seems to be a known issue, at least a fix/workaround was implemented for Ubuntu: https://askubuntu.com/questions/468466/why-this-occurs-error-diskfilter-writes-are-not-supported Additional info: * package version(s) grub-1:2.02.beta2-5 |

Additional comments about closing: This needs fixing by upstream. If still happening, where is the upstream ticket? We are not going to apply hundreds of patches like Debian/Ubuntu and Fedora/RedHat.

Still not fixed upstream, still not fixed in arch. :>
