DetailsDescription: pacman doesn't deal with .tar.xz files.
Additional info: * package version(s) : pacman 4.2.1-4 * config and/or log files etc. $ sudo pacman -Sc Packages to keep: All locally installed packages Cache directory: /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ :: Do you want to remove all other packages from cache? [Y/n] y removing old packages from cache... error: could not open file /var/cache/pacman/pkg/chromium-44.0.2403.107-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz: Unrecognized archive format Database directory: /var/lib/pacman/ :: Do you want to remove unused repositories? [Y/n] y removing unused sync repositories... Steps to reproduce: Install chromium. Uninstall chromium. Type "sudo pacman -Sc". pacman doesn't delete chromium, because it is a .tar.xz file. |

pacman links to libarchive which understands XZ and tar. *all* packages in the official repos are compressed this way, so it must be something special about this specific tarball which it has a problem with.
