Description:
dmesg shows these warnings among others
[ 1.465202] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0: Direct firmware load for iwlwifi-3160-15.ucode failed with error -2
[ 1.465220] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0: Direct firmware load for iwlwifi-3160-14.ucode failed with error -2

I downloaded those files from the net, e.g https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/_media/en/users/drivers/iwlwifi-3160-ucode-25.30.14.0.tgz and the warning disappears.

That firmware hasn't made it into the upstream git repo yet (http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git;a=summary).

Not a bug. Firmware ABIs 14 and 15 are simply not released yet (as part of upstream linux-firmware). The kernel still supports ABI 13, which we have and it loads.
