I am facing exactly the same issue. This is in the dmesg log before going to suspend, but nothing similar afterwards:

I worked around it by using linux-lts for now, but I want to run latest.

Seems fixed in 4.3.

Back that, happened again right now.

Same problem here on my Dell Precision M3800 Mobile Workstation (similar to XPS 15 9530).

Also affects 4.5 for me on a Latitude E5550.

Blacklisting dell_rbtn seems to fix the issue for the people in the above mentioned thread (also appears to work for me after five attempts).

Hi I filed the upstream bug report. For the time being, blacklisting dell_rbtn works beautifully. The upstream devs know of the issue and are working on a fix. No ETA yet

It’s been fixed in 4.6.1.
