Since Arch is packaging bitlbee with its own user and group, it would be nice if the service files used them. It just saves the user a small edit to the service file so bitlbee isn't needlessly running as root by default. The service file appears to come from upstream. You should probably talk to them about this.

The default upstream config (/etc/bitlbee/bitlbee.conf) leaves the non-root user commented out, too.

I supposed since it's not upstream dictating what user:group bitlbee uses, but the packager, that it's something better fielded at Arch.

Except that the upstream config strongly implies that "bitlbee" is that user name...
