nginx is currently built with --with-http_spdy_module, which provides SPDY support. It would be great to have it built with --with-http_v2_module to provide HTTP2 support (which supercedes SPDY) in addition to, or instead of SPDY.

As far as I can tell the module has no additional dependencies. Please see http://nginx.org/en/docs/http/ngx_http_v2_module.html

Additional comments about closing:  1.8.0 doesn't come with HTTP/2 and upgrading to a development version will not be done.

HTTP/2 support is experimental and only included in the mainline/development version.
