Description:
Sorry, I know this bug report sounds crazy, but on my latest [testing] update I observed the following:-
1. Opening PDFs with zathura would result in a blank window. After some testing, I found that okular worked, and that zathura would work if run 5 minutes later (only if okular was first used).
2. Virtualbox would start an existing Win10 VM and then immediately crash with an 'unknown error' (that's what it reports).

I downgraded and started testing various package upgrades, I've narrowed it down to an upgrade in libpulse, pulseaudio, and related (full list below). This sounds crazy to me (at least for point 1, I can see how virtualbox and pulse would be related), and I'm reporting it here for further investigation.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
libpulse 6.99.2-1
pulseaudio 6.99.2-1
pulseaudio-bluetooth 6.99.2-1
pulseaudio-equalizer 6.99.2-1
pulseaudio-gconf 6.99.2-1
pulseaudio-jack 6.99.2-1
* config and/or log files etc.
No change

Steps to reproduce:
Upgrade and try opening a PDF or to start VB.

Additional notes:- I'm fully up-to-date except for the kernel, linux-headers, and related modules, as I'm experiencing an upstream BT bug as well. This should not be related.

Update, issue 1 no longer appears, but issue 2 still happens. After some more testing I've found that the pulseaudio server doesn't even start. I have two pulseaudio -vvvv outputs, one working and one not. From those I think the issue is that the latest pulseaudio hangs on trying to load module-native-protocol-unix. I'll try to raise this upstream.

[1] - http://pastebin.com/QNgjBFvG - working, with pulseaudio 6.0
[2] - http://pastebin.com/ijp4mbFw - not working, with pulseaudio 6.99
