Details

Description:
The latest version of ffmpeg (1:2.8-1) someway interferes with the correct functioning of mlt, causing color shifting in the videos getting through it. Downgradingto an earlier version of ffmpeg solves the problem

Additional info:
* package version(s): 1:2.8-1

Steps to reproduce:
* Make sure you have ffmpeg version 1:2.8-1
* install mlt or mlt-git
* run "melt videofilepath" where videofilepath is the path to any kind of video (tested with different formats)
You'll notice that the colors are wrong, if you compare them with the ones shown in a different player (vlc, mpv or even ffplay work fine for some reason)

Unless you can prove otherwise, this is upstream issue.

Maxime, I'm in favour of closing it, but I leave the decision to you.

I seems I can't reproduce, mlt, mpv and ffplay are rendering the videos I tried identically. Some codecs don't automatically store the colorspace of a stream and players usually have to guess the correct one, maybe mlt's guess is wrong for your particular videos. If it's not on your end, I also agree it would be an upstream issue. We didn't change anything related to color management in the ffmpeg PKGBUILD between 2.7.2 and 2.8.

I'll be closing this task, please get in touch with upstream.
