Please provide backtraces indicating a bug in xfce4-panel. You're using a very old theme from AUR, which also uses the Murrine GTK engine, which isn't the most stable project either.

Very old theme?! This version of greybird was released 2015-09-09! Which GTK engine provides more stability instead of murrine?

  • Field changed: Summary (xfce4-panel segfaults when choosing greybird theme → [xfce4-panel] segfault when choosing greybird theme)
  • Field changed: Status (Unconfirmed → Assigned)
  • Task assigned to Evangelos Foutras (foutrelis)
Tempted to close this as an unsupported theme issue, but we'll see what the maintainer says.

It doesn't crash for me so it's hard to tell what the issue might be.

It would be helpful if you could rebuild xfce4-panel from ABS with debug symbols and then get a backtrace of the crash:
