Description:

After installing jupyter with all optional dependencies listed, jupyter-qtconsole fails to run with error:

This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "xcb".

Available platform plugins are: eglfs, linuxfb, minimal, minimalegl, offscreen, xcb.

Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Installing libxkbcommon-x11 corrected the problem

Is this still a problem? It appears it was a qt issue and not a jupyer issue.

jupyter-qtconsole optdepends on python-pyqt5.

Chasing the dependency chain down gives: python-pyqt5 -> pyqt5-common -> qt5-base -> libxkbcommon-x11

So it seems to have been a missing qt dependency, which has since been fixed.
