DetailsDescription:
I understand there has been some discusion about this and I think there is a sane middle-ground solution. nvidia-utils and nvidia-libgl (as well as the variants like nvidia-340xx-*) do not have nvidia as dependency. Talking on IRC I understand the point of view that I might have my self-compiled module and that is why they do not have the driver pkg as dependency. I actually like that. I also understand that most people will probably just type "pacman -S nvidia" But I believe that the package "nvidia" should be added then as a recomended dependency. This won't force or change anything but will make the user aware, right there, without having to look up the wiki, that the actual nvidia is not being installed. |

Reason for closing: Won't fix
Additional comments about closing: The nvidia deps will be reworked properly once intel provides a glvnd solution.

Instead, adding nvidia-libgl as optdep of nvidia (and so on for the other two variants) might at least makes some sense. You will be surprised to see how many newbs have difficulty on figuring out which libgl they should pick.
Anyway, that's not the main point of my comment. I found these a bit overkill anyway. The main reason I am posting this is, somehow nvidia-utils 361.18-2 is marked as a fix of this bug, while it does nothing else but remove the (optional?) libnvidia-wfb.so, which I don't see how is it relevant to this bug.
