DetailsDescription:
When using suspend to RAM, returning from suspend will turn the screen pink and no windows visible. It will respond to a soft power button though so it's not frozen. When using display sleep, returning from display sleep will make the mouse cursor take up half the screen. The part of the screen below the mouse position will turn into one big box with the same color as the color that is supposed to be below the mouse cursor. Window interactions, keyboard etc works normally. Artifacts are shown in the top left of the screen also, but only when the cursor is on that current display. I was using one DVI display and one HDMI display. I should add, I'm using the kernel option i915.preliminary_hw_support=1 because that's the only way to allow setting screen resolution.

More details: When the cursor issue appears, the whole X screen is actually shifted to the right maybe 150-200 pixels or so.

As noted in https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1561042 this can't be reproduced in linux 4.2.

I have now tried kernels 4.3rc1 mainline and 4.2 from testing and both suspend and monitor sleep now appears to work correctly.
