Description:

The permissions inside tables-3.2.1-py3.4.egg-info are not good. Since the entry points can't be accessed, scripts such as pttree and others can't be run as normal user.

This is how upstream is installing them, I would suggest complaining to them.

What do you mean by upstream? The tables package maintainers directly or something else? Since permissions are good installed through pip, I do not think that the tables package is directly responsible for this. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding something?

I've fixed it for now in repo (other issues were also temporarily resolved that way, like  FS#30020 ). At the same time, I've reported https://github.com/PyTables/PyTables/issues/488
