DetailsInstall disk 0.7.0 (Wombat) easily sets up network and installs GRUB to a seperate physical IDE MBR (hda) drive with a SCSI drive (sda1) as root, 0.7.1 (Noodle)will do neither one with or without modprobing modules in a virtual console, whether or not typical install, quickinst, or FTP is performed. Arch can be set up totally with Wombat from CD and then upgraded post-install, but this is a much lengthier process due to the vast differences between the new packages and their configuration files, so I am hoping the next install disk is more capable.
Hardware= Nforce2 chipset, adaptec 29160N, Seagate 9.2gb 10k(rpm), Maxtor 80gb. Please look into this if at all possible. Thanks, Bysshe |
