I don't really know how it happends but i think it's because i was doing 'pacman -Syu' yesterday and after it i restarted my arch
when i start it right after the grub start to load the machine i get this on my screen:
"ACPI: Looking for DSDT in initramfs... error, file /DSDT.aml not found.
ACPI: setting ELCR to 0200 (from 0e20)"

and that's where my machine stop booting.

update to 2.6.16.14-2 this should solve the problem, dsdt has nothing to do with this hang, if you don't specified a custom acpi dsdt file.

you need the arch cd to boot and then do the steps mentioned in install docu to chroot into your system, it's the part
http://www.archlinux.org/docs/en/guide/install/arch-install-guide.html#faq5
there it is mentioned how you chroot into the system.
once you chrooted you can call pacman
