Details

Currently the dependencies stated by this package don't trigger the installation of package pulseaudio which is needed for pavucontrol to work.
Problem will probably get masked by other packages pulling pulseaudio more often than not, yet pulseaudio should be added as dependency, IMO.

Actually, pavucontrol does not need pulseaudio to work. You can e.g. use pavucontrol as a GUI frontend to control pulseaudio on a remote server over the network.

pavucontrol only needs libpulse, which it already depends on (indirectly via libcanberra-pulse).

Better than closing, just optdepend on pulseaudio.
it's what the majority of user will use and the network users won't need to install it.

I agree, pavucontrol should optdepend on pulseaudio.
