Package: Docker-1.7.1-2 https://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/x86_64/docker/
On 4.0.4 kernel (EC2)
Description:
When I do pacman -Sy and install docker (pacman -S docker) and try to run it
I get this error
docker: /usr/lib/libdevmapper.so.1.02: version `DM_1_02_97' not found (required by docker)

When I try to update device-mapper, I get this
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
device-mapper: /usr/bin/blkdeactivate exists in filesystem
device-mapper: /usr/share/man/man8/blkdeactivate.8.gz exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

Dependency issue is resolved after I did pacman -Syu.

Shouldn't the docker installation update the dependencies to the required versions?

I am sorry if this doesn't count as a bug.

Thanks.

"When I do pacman -Sy and install docker..."

Don't do that. This is an unsupported partial update. Update your entire system or update nothing.
