DetailsFor those for are not English (European) language native, when they need to input their own language, they need to use something like IME (Input Methode Engin), and GCIN is one of these IME we use for Traditional Chinese (and for Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Korean and many others - with the right table).
In Gaim, the key processing is broken, and from the IME, the [enter] key is useless - we have to use something else, like [tab] or [space] to send the input from IME to Gaim. There is a Patch proposed by the Gentoo team in Taiwan, and ot seems to resolve this problem ftp://ftp.nsysu.edu.tw/Linux/Gentoo/gentoo-portage/net-im/gaim/files/gaim-0.76-xinput.patch and, seems that this is also in the FC CVS : http://cvs.fedora.redhat.com/viewcvs/*checkout*/devel/gaim/gaim-0.76-xinput.patch (I will try to grab more info on the patch and add comments later) |
This task depends upon
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47414
And the patch is originally made from FC/Gaim maintainer (not from Gentoo TW ppl)
And, this patch is no longer need in the 2.0 branch.
