Usually we only add patches when they were accepted upstream, but these two patches didn't make it yet.

yea, but if not apply that patches, then need remove python2-ply to build, and then install again when finish the build. if remove it, lead to fail other python2 instance when need ply to run

other option is downgrade to version 3.5. Or use a chroot, but this need a lot of free space

Upstream fixed the problem in 3.7. Please reopen if you are still getting the problem.
