It should be noted, that Mr Sievers added a last commit today where he removed all files from the repo.

The Repo is still available though (whereas Homepage URL returns 404), but gummiboot should sooner or later be removed from the repo?
Since it somehow got implemented with systemd.

I also think we should drop gummiboot. It is now included with systemd.

Removed from core, systemd-boot is the replacement.
