Details

With the release of openssh 6.9p1-1, the default for the sshd_config's PermitRootLogin option will changed from "yes" to "no"[1]. Since many use the live environment in a rescue mode, often instructing someone else remotely, it makes sense to me to set that back to PermitRootLogin=yes only for the live CD.

Without doing this, the Aug version will require several extra steps in order to allow access via ssh to a target box, ie either creating a user and installing sudo, or manually changing /etc/ssh/sshd_config to do what I am requesting.
