Does removing /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/42-usb-hid-pm.rules and rebooting fix the issue?

No, the problem persists. I use the usb modem as storage device. Nothing shows up in File Manager or in "lsblk -f"

does it show up in lsusb? I'm wondering if you just need https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?name=usb_modeswitch

1.Yes, it shows up in the lsusb. Following is the output for corresponding lsusb
"Bus 001 Device 005: ID 1c9e:f000 OMEGA TECHNOLOGY"
2. usb_modeswitch is already present in the system.
3. As I mentioned in the bug report, if I remove libgudev and downgrade systemd, libsystemd, it shows up in file manager.

After a bit of looking, it appears that is the correct ID for USB drive mode.

But drive doesn't appear in file manager or in terminal output for lsblk -f
