Details

prorgamms like kwrite and kate need a lib from the lua-package to run, but lua is not a dependency of kdebase.

hmmm, ldd kwrite nor ldd kate show me a depend on lua package.
Also my system has no lua installed and the apps run just fine

Sorry, you are totally right. It seems as if only the arch64-port of arch ha this dependencies.
