This task depends upon

Happened to me too, a bit annoying not to be able to read email after performing a run of the mill pacman -Syu. Personally I would have put the severity and priority on this fault higher than Low/Normal, as the application goes from working to not working without any notice, and the error message about a missing shared library would typically be hidden behind an icon in a window manager, rather than being seen at the command line.
