Steps to reproduce:

1.Install mate
2.Update pacman database and conflict arises

This is due to mate-settings-daemon-pulseaudio replacing mate-settings-daemon though it provides mate-settings-daemon-pulseaudio

Exactly, mate-settings-daemon-pulseaudio should be removed from [community].
