DetailsDescription:
I know that philosophy of Arch is to keep apps as vanilla as possible but even though IPython comes with an icon file which gets installed here: "/usr/lib/python3.4/site-packages/IPython/qt/console/resources/icon/IPythonConsole.svg", ".desktop" files point to the "gnome-netstatus-idle" icon file. I guess this is done in upstream probably because of limitations of pip but when IPython is being packaged we can provide a better icon. Additional info: This is also done for example in debian: sed -i -e "s/gnome-netstatus-idle/ipython/" debian/ipython*/usr/share/applications/*desktop cp IPython/qt/console/resources/icon/IPythonConsole.svg \ $(CURDIR)/debian/ipython/usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/ipython.svg Please consider adding a code similar to those two lines in the PKGBUILD. |
