Click on "Download snapshot" download a file called "master.tar.gz".

A name like "$pkgname-$pkgver-$pkgrel.tar.gz" would be better.
Why? Because if we download more than one snapshot on a same directory, we can't easily know which package it is.

The "master.tar.gz" is because that is what git names the packages it creates for downloads. For instance, if I download a git repo's files using the built in download tool, git packages the file with the name "master". There would have to be a script that takes the git-packaged .tar.gz and rename it to OP's suggestion.

It should be quite easy to do this on the server-side with a rewrite rule or by patching cgit. Will look into it when I am back home.

I think it's easier on the server-side, like says Gryffyn.

Thank you for your consideration.

"Download snapshot" redirects to https://aur4.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/snapshot/PACKAGE.tar.gz.
On page, we can read this message: "Repository seems to be empty"
And we can't download the snapshot.
