Description:

After reading #44881[0] I thought this could apply for more applications that depend on gnome-icon-theme.
Gtk2 and Gtk3 optdepend (or so. Gtk3 is weird in that case) on adwaita-icon-theme, whereas libxfce4ui depends on gtk2/3.
So it's most likely that adwaita-icon-theme will be installed on a system. So the argument from #44881 will apply here in my opinion.

I did the change locally and noticed no difference or errors (why should there one. Specify a theme and it shouldn't be a problem to display a picture)

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

Confirmed this still exists. The package xfce4-settings (4.12.0-4) still depends on gnome-icon-theme. The total current list of packages depending on the old gnome-icon-theme can be seen here: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/any/gnome-icon-theme/

I also don't understand why xfce depends on gnome-icon-theme.
