Description:

The post install script generates fonts.scale and fonts.dir for /usr/share/font/misc only.
As fonts are installed in /usr/share/font/{OTF,TTF}, fonts.scale and fonts.dir should be updated in those directories too.

Which package are you talking about? xorg-fonts-misc? If it's a -misc package, why should it touch /usr/share/font/{OTF,TTF}?

Yes, it's all about xorg-fonts-misc.
`pacman -Ql xorg-fonts-misc` shows another font directories for this package.

GohaTibebZemen.ttf is present in upstream font-misc-ethiopic package
