Details

Two files in mono-basic 3.8-1 conflict with files of the same names in the same locations in mono 4.0.1.28-1:

error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
mono-basic: /usr/lib/mono/2.0/Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll exists in filesystem
mono-basic: /usr/lib/mono/4.0/Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll exists in filesystem

Steps to reproduce: attempt to install mono-basic on an up-to-date system.

Mono-basic package is outdated.

I know that it is outdated. Maybe that's the problem here. I will check this and will release a new version of mono-basic

Yes, sorry. I meant that the new release should solve the conflict, as it doesn't ship the two mentioned files anymore (and even more than those two). Mono is dropping support for the old frameworks.
